7.Easetheburnerupalittleandremovetheentirepilotlight/igniterassembly(twonuts)fromthe
mainburner.
8.Lifttheburnerclearofthefirebox.
ROUTINEMAINTENANCESCHEDULE
We recommend that you have your Masport heater checked yearly by an Authorised
Technician.
Thisperiodicmaintenanceshouldcoverthefollowingpoints:-
1.Replacethefilterinthecontrolvalve(BostonandOdessamodelsonly).
2.Replacethebatteryintheignitermodule(SantaFeonly).Accessthebatterybyunscrewingthe
blacktopcapsurroundingtheredignitionpressbutton.OneAAalkalinecellrequired.
2.Cleanallairentrypointssuchasprimaryandsecondaryairinletpassages.
3.Cleanthemaininjectorjethole(s).
4.Cleanthefanofanylintorforeignmatter.
5.Aftertheabovesteps,checktheoperationofthepilot,themainburnerandthecontrolvalveby
lightingthefire.
6.Checktheoperationofthethermostat(SantaFemodels)byturningitscontrolpointaboveand
belowtheambientroomtemperatureandcheckingtheresponseofthefire.
Otherpointswhichcanbecheckedaftercompletingtheaboveare:-
1.Thermocouplegeneration.
2.Gasconsumptionrate.
3.Carbondioxidecontentinthecombustionproducts.
4.Theflueoperation.(BostonandOdessamodelsonly).
Note: To ensure satisfactory performance, all components fitted should be genuine
Masportspareparts.
FIREBOXPAINTFINISH
Theinteriorofthefireboxissubjecttoextremelyhighflametemperatures.Whilstthepainted
surface is designed for high temperature durability, the combustion conditions can cause
deterioration of the paint finish. This is not unique to Masport gas fires. If the surface
discoloursorblisters,simplyscuffanyloosepaintfromthefireboxandlightlyre-spraywith
Masporthightemperaturepaint.
