Mecmesin MultiTest-x manual
43
The MultiTest-x system is fitted with a loadcell with a capacity of 50 newtons
or greater
The lowest part of the fixture is at least 500mm above the ‘anvil plate’ (the
flat black plate on the base of the MultiTest); press and hold the [Jog Up]
key if it is not. This is because, to avoid the need to use a particular
specimen, you will be pulling on the loadcell with your fingers so ample
clearance is very important, see Appendix 2 . (Note, the crosshead will move
up very slowly, then move back down the same distance, absolutely
minimising any chance of injury.)
The MultiTest-x system is in ‘supervisor mode’ (see, [1], [4], <8>) this is
essential to develop any procedure.
The first six stages described below are typical of those required for the development
of any test procedure even a much more complicated one!
Stage (7) will be required if test data need to be saved to a computer or data logger,
rather than, for example, written down in a lab’ notebook. Unless you are an
absolutely excellent programmer, stage (8) will be required much more often than you
think!
Note: Although it is not strictly necessary to return to the Main Menu (by pressing the
[Stop/BK SP] twice) between each stage, it is a recommended ‘good practice,
because each time the Main Menu is re-displayed, the procedure will be re-saved.
