ii) Activate the Minimum calculation, <1>, scroll to the next calculation, [Jog Dn]
iii) Activate the Average calculation, <1>, scroll to the next calculation, [Jog Dn],
iv) press [Stop/BK SP] to return to the Analysis Menu
(Note that continuing to scroll down would allow other calculations to be activated, if
required.)
These three calculations have now been set up with default parameters, i.e. the
results for all of the test data will be calculated. This will be fine for the Peak
calculation. However there could be a delay of around one second before the operator
starts to apply tensile load; the result of this will be that the minimum load will always
be zero, and the average load will always be too low. The following modification to the
‘parameters’ of the Minimum and Average calculations will give better test results:
(Note that these calculations can be further improved, see (8) )
v) Press [1] to re-enter Select Analysis menu,
vi) no modification to the Peak calculation will be necessary, so press
[Start/ENT], [Start/ENT], to accept the default parameters.
vii) Set up the parameters of the Minimum calculation, press [Start/ENT], enter
0.1mm for Displacement1, press [Start/ENT], and enter 1mm for
Displacement2.
viii) Set up the parameters of the Average calculation, press [Start/ENT], enter
0.1mm for Displacement1, press [Start/ENT], and enter 1mm for
Displacement2, press [Start/ENT].
Press the [Stop/BK SP] key twice to return to the Main Menu.
5) Setting the Pass/Fail Limits
The required tolerance limits can be set up within the ‘Set Limits’ facility ([1], [3], [2],
[2])
i) Enter the lower limit for the Peak result as 20N, [Start/ENT],
ii) Enter the upper limit for the Peak result as 25N, [Start/ENT],
iii) Enter the lower limit for the Minimum result as 15N, [Start/ENT],
iv) Enter the upper limit for the Minimum result as 20N, [Start/ENT],
v) Enter the lower limit for the Average result as 18N, [Start/ENT],
vi) Enter the upper limit for the Average result as 22N, [Start/ENT],
