6.1.3 ScalerHandpiece
Clean the surface of the handpiece and
of its connector using a clean, soft, lint
free, cloth moistened with the prepared
    
    
disinfectant solution with neutral pH
    
manufacturer;

and a clean soft bristled, nylon brush to
gently scrub the external surface of the
handpiece and the front cone until all
visible soil has been removed.
The following parts must be brushed
meticulously:
• threaded pin onto which the inserts
are screwed;
• the visible parts adjacent to the
threaded pin;
• threaded part of the handpiece
onto which the front cone is
screwed;

• external and internal parts of nose
cone;
