See Fig. 5.1, the part under the metal ring is at an IPX7 level; the part above the metal ring is at an
IPX1 level.
Note: Do not put the part above the metal ring into liquid.
5.2.2 Clean-Up
The probe cover should be kept clean. Please use tissue to clean the acoustic gel after each
use. Use soft cloth dampened with appropriate hospital cleaning agent (e.g. isopropyl alcohol,
medical alcohol) to wipe the probe cover.
For further cleaning, Bianex
®
Special Efficiency Multi-Enzymatic Cleanser is recommended
according to the procedures below:
a) Prepare the cleaning solution by adding 1-2ml Bianex
®
Special Efficiency Multi-Enzymatic
Cleanser into 500ml of sterile water. Additional amounts may be required for hard-to-remove
matters. The water temperature should be at 20-64.
b) Immerse the part of probe cover under the metal ring into the container with 500ml cleaning
solution for 5 minutes. Clean the probe cover carefully in the cleaning solution with a soft silk
brush and shake it to wash; and then take it out and wipe off the cleaning solution with sterile
cloth.
c) Rinse the cleaned probe cover by immersing them in 500ml sterile water for 1 minute.
d) Drain the probe cover and wipe it with sterile cloth.
Notes:
Disposable gloves, eye protection and liquid-proof gowns should be worn when
cleaning soiled probe cover.

5.3 Disinfection of Probe Cover
Level of disinfection:
Ultrasound probes that are non-critical devices only need to be cleaned and receive intermediate
or low-level disinfection between patient uses. (See §5.2.2 Clean-Up)
Sporicidin Sterilizing and Disinfecting Solution (k003087) is recommended for disinfection. Please
follow its suppliers instruction.
Note: Disinfection can be carried out in accordance with the disinfection methods
identified by local regulations
