5 OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
With configuration
1]
Select transformer “Configuration” and en-
ter the first and last tap voltage values.
Note First tap voltage must be higher than nominal
voltage for the winding with taps and last tap
voltage lower.
In case the calculated tap voltage differs from
the nameplate it is possible to manually enter
the values in the table.
2] Connect cables.
Press to display a connecting diagram.
3] Select test voltage.
4] Press to start test
5] Select next tap, operate tap changer and
continue until all taps are measured.
6] Reconnect cables to next phase. Press
to see connecting diagram.
7] Measure all taps.
8] Continue with next phase.
9] Save results.
5.8 Excitation current
Important
Read and comply with the safety instruc-
tions “2 Safety” on page 8.
Always comply with local safety regula-
tions.
1] Press
TRAX Excitation current app is intended for measuring
current and impedance on one side of a transformer
with the opposite windings open.
WARNING
The common practice is to measure
excitation current on HV windings. If
excitation current is to be measured on
LV side on a transformer please note that
the HV side will be energized at a higher
voltage that can be very dangerous.
