5. Insert the drip tray without the coee
grounds container.

beneath the Cappuccinatore.

9. Insert a new lter in the water tank (see
Fig. 19).
10. Fill the water tank.
11. Insert the water tank again.

If the appliance requests you to ll the
water tank during this procedure, close
the "valve" rst. Fill the water tank and
afterwards open the "valve".
» The lter is rinsed with water.
» Water ows into the vessel beneath
the Cappuccinatore.
» The Steam display lights up and
requests you to close the "valve".
13. Close the "valve".
» The lter programme is nished.
» The Filter display goes out.
» The appliance is ready for operation.
Permanently de-registering the water
lter
If you have removed an inserted water
lter and want to continue operating the
appliance without a water lter, deactivate
the water lter on the appliance:
1. Remove the water tank.
2. Empty the water tank.
3. Remove the water lter (see Fig. 19).
4. Fill the water tank.
5. Insert the water tank again.
6. Press the "Service" button for
more than 2seconds to call up Service
mode1.
7. Press the "Service" button
repeatedly until the display for the Filter
function appears.
8. Press the "Coee strength" button
repeatedly until no coee beans are lit.
9. Press the "Service" button for
more than 2seconds to save the
setting and exit the service mode.
» The water lter is de-registered.
» The water hardness is reset to the
water hardness that the appliance
had stored prior to inserting a water
lter.
10. Adjust the water hardness if necessary
(see section.6.3 Setting the water hard-
ness on page45).
8 Transport, storage and
disposal
8.1 Venting the appliance
We recommend venting the appliance
when it is not used for a long period, prior
to transport and when there is a risk of
frost.
During venting, residual water is removed
from the appliance.
If you put the appliance back into opera-
tion, automatic rinsing is carried out after
switching on and the appliance vented
(see section3.6 Switching on the appliance
for the rst time on page37).
CAUTION
Outowing steam and hot steam pipe
Do not reach into the steam that is
owing out.
Do not touch the steam pipe during
and immediately after use. Wait until
the steam pipe has cooled down.
