3.2.9 Surround and Decorative Fronts Information
3.2.9.1 Definition
A “Surround” is defined as the part that is designed to cover the outer edges gap between the Insert body and the existing
Woodburning fireplace opening’s outer edges.
3.2.9.2 Types of Surrounds
Four types of Surrounds are offered for this Mendota Insert:
a. Basix Surrounds-Stock Items
b. Option 2 Finish Basix Surrounds
c. Faceplate Surrounds-Stock Items
d. Custom Surrounds (Basix or Faceplate)
3.2.9.3 Basix Surrounds- Stock Items
Basix Surrounds are offered as stocked items in various sizes,
shapes (rectangle and arched) and with three outer edge finish
options. The deeper outer edge finishes allow installation of this
Insert in cavities with shallower depths. Consult with your Mendota
Dealer for specific details and availability. Use a Basix if installing
one of these decorative options:
a. Barrier Screen only, with no decorative option
b. Traditions Decorative Front
c. Grace Decorative Front (wide, narrow, arched or rectangle)
d. Willowbrook Decorative Front (arched or rectangle)
e. Solo Decorative Front
f. Stella Decorative Front
g. Rustique Decorative Front
