2. Supply cooling water to the water inlet holes or seawater pump inlet.
3. Start the engine and operate until it reaches normal operating temperature.
4. Stop the engine.
5.
Change the engine oil and filter. Refer to Section 5 ‑ Engine Oil.
6.
Flush the seawater cooling system. Refer to Section 5 ‑ Flushing the Seawater System.
7. Check for oil leaks.
8.
Drain the seawater system and protect it with propylene glycol antifreeze. Refer to Section 5 ‑ Draining and Protecting
the Seawater System.
NOTE: Before starting the engine to draw in the propylene glycol antifreeze, remove the air filter. Restart the engine and
spray a small amount of Storage Seal Rust Inhibitor into the intake pipe.
IMPORTANT: An excessive amount of Storage Seal is not required, the intention is to coat the compressor portion of the
turbocharger only, and not the engine combustion chambers. Never introduce an excessive amount of oil to the intake of a
diesel engine.

9. Immediately stop the engine when the propylene glycol antifreeze has been drawn into the engine.
10. Install the air filter.
11. Clean the outside of the engine and paint damaged areas with primer and spray paint. After the paint has dried, apply a
corrosion‑inhibiting spray or equivalent.
