15.Turn on the water to the flushing attachment.
16.Start the engine and check for acceptable oil pressure. Allow
the engine to idle for at least one minute. Shut off the engine
and the water to the flushing attachment. Wait a few minutes
for the engine oil to return to the crankcase and then check
the oil level. Add the specified oil to bring the level up to, but
not over, the "OK range" mark on the dipstick.
NOTE: It is normal for the oil level to be low after changing the oil
and filter because the filter is empty and gets filled at start up.
17.Remove the flushing attachment(s).
SUPERCHARGER GEARCASE OIL
IMPORTANT: Change the supercharger oil when the engine and
supercharger are warm from operation. Warm oil flows more
freely, carrying away more impurities. Use only the recommended
oil in the supercharger, see
Specifications.
If the oil level in the
sight‑glass has increased, decreased, or changed to an abnormal
color, it would indicate an internal problem with the supercharger.
Contact your authorized Mercury Marine dealer.
1. Remove the fill plug from the top of the supercharger
gearcase.
