7 Assembly
3. Install a heated inner bearing cone, bearing spacer, front output
carrier assembly, and heated outer bearing cone as shown below.

4. Install the End Play Setup Tool (see page 58) or front output
yoke and lock nut. Using a fi xture to hold the front output
assembly, torque the lock nut to specifi cation. Figure 7.22.

5. Turn the shaft over and use a dial indicator to measure the shaft
end play. The clearance should be 0.002-0.004” (0.050-0.100
mm) loose. If the end play is not within specifi cation, a bearing
spacer ring of a different thickness will need to be used. Figure
7.23.

6. Remove the lock nut, spacer, and the End Play Setup Tool.
7. Install a new front output seal. Figure 7.24.
