Thevehicleisttedwithseatbeltpre-tensioners,these
aredesignedtoretractthefrontseatbeltsandwork
inconjunctionwiththeairbagsintheeventofasevere
collision.Theyaredesignedtoretracttheseatbeltand
'secure'theoccupantintheseat.
Theairbagwarninglightontheinstrumentpackwill
alertthedrivertoanymalfunctionoftheseatbelt
pretensioners.(see‘WarningLampsandIndicators'inthe
‘InstrumentsandControls’chapter).
Theseatbeltpre-tensionerscanonlybeactivatedonce,
afteractivationtheymustbereplaced.Thismayalso
involvereplacementofotherSRScomponents.Please
referto'ReplacementofAirbagSystemComponentsAfter
aCollision'.
IMPORTANT
•Seatbeltpre-tensionerswillnotbeactivatedby
minorimpacts.
•Theremovalorreplacementofapre-tensionermust
becarriedoutbythemanufacturertrained,dealer
technicians.
•10yearsfromtheinitialdateofregistration
(orinstallationdateofareplacementseatbelt
pre-tensioner),somecomponentswillneedtobe
replaced.TheappropriatepageoftheWarrantyand
MaintenanceManualmustbesignedandstamped
oncetheworkhasbeencompleted.
