Thepurposeoftheparkingaidistoassistthe
driverinreversing!Thesensorsmaynotbe
abletodetectobstaclesofcertaintype,e.g.
narrowpostsorsmallobjectsnomorethan
afewincheswide,smallobjectsclosetothe
ground,objectsabovethetailgateandsome
objectswithnon-reectivesurfaces.
Keepthesensorsfreefromdirt,iceandsnow.
Ifdepositsbuilduponthesurfaceofthe
sensors,theirperformancemaybeimpaired.
Inacarwash,avoidaiminghighpressure
waterjetsdirectlyatthesensorsfromclose
range.

Fourultrasonicsensors,situatedintherearbumper,
monitortheareabehindthecarsearchingforobstructions.
Ifanobstacleisdetected,thesystemwillcalculateits
distancefromtherearofthevehicleandcommunicates
themessagetothedriverbysoundingwarningchimes.

WiththeignitionswitchinONposition,therearparking
aidisenabledautomaticallywhenthereversegearis
selected;andwhenitismovedoutofthereversegear,
thesystemwillbeimmediatelyshutoff.Ashortbeep
isgivenbytheparkingaidappr .1secondafterselecting
thereversegeartoindicatethatthesystemisoperating
normally.Ifanobstructionisdetectedattherear ,the
systemwillpromptthedriverwithwarningalarms.
Note:Afterselectingthereversegear,ifthesystem
makesconsecutivehigh-pitchsounds(forapproximate
3seconds),itindicatesthatsomethingiswrongwith
thesystem,pleasecontactanMGAuthorisedRepairer
forservice.
