Brakepedalfreestrokeisintherangeof10~30mm.
Foraddedsafety,thehydraulicbrakingsystemoperates
throughdualpipelines.Ifonepipelinefails,theother
willcontinuetofunction,butbrakepedaltravelwillbe
increasedinthiscase,thusgreaterpressureshallbe
appliedtothebrakepedal,andlongerstoppingdistances
willbeexperienced.Ifthefailurethatonlyonebrake
pipelinefunctionsoccurs,bringthecartoahaltasquickly
aspermissiblebytrafcsafety.Donotcontinuedriving-
seekanMGAuthorisedRepairer.
ServoAssistance
Thebrakingsystemisservoassisted,alwaysbeawareof
thefollowingsduringtheoperation:
•Theservoassistancefunctionswiththeenginestarted
uponly.Neverallowthecartofreewheelwiththe
engineameout.
•Iftheengineshutsdownforanyreasonwhiledriving,
bringthecartoahaltasquicklyaspermissiblebytrafc
safety,anddonotpumpthebrakepedalasthebraking
systemwillloseanyremainingservoassistance.Ifthe
enginestopsandtheremainingservoassistanceinthe
brakingsystemisconsumed,aspermissiblebytrafc
safety,steponthebrakepedalasmuchaspossibleto
stopthecar.SeekanMGAuthorisedRepairerurgently.
•Whenthebrakingefciencyofvacuumbooster
decreasesduetoenginestallorotherreasons(suchas
changeofatmosphericpressure),youneedtostepon
thebrakepedalwithgreatereffortthanusualtogain
effectivebraking.
WetConditions
Drivingthroughpuddlesorheavyrainmayadverselyaffect
thebrakingefciency.Inthiscase,youshallsteponthe
brakepedalintermittentlyandslightlytokeepthebrake
discsurfacedrywhenensuringasafetydistancewithother
cars.
ElectronicBrakeForceDistribution(EBD)
WithEBDequippedinthevehicle,inordertoachieve
goodbrakeperformanceunderdifferentloadconditions,
thesystemshallautomaticallydistributethebrakeforce
betweenthefrontandrearaxle.
