T urnofftheignitionswitchandalltheelectricalequipments
inbothvehicles,andthenfollowtheinstructionsbelow:
1Connectthepositive(+)terminalsofbothbatteries
withajumpercable.Connectthenegative(-)
terminalofthedonorvehiclebattery(A)withthe
otherjumpercabletoagoodearthpoint(theengine
mountorotherunpaintedsurface,forexample)on
thedisabledvehicle(B),atleast0.5mawayfromthe
battery.
2Checkwhetherthecablesareclearofmovingparts
ofbothengines,thenstarttheengineofthedonor
vehicleandallowittoidleforafewminutes.
3Startthedisabledvehicle(theignitionoftheengine
shouldnotexceed10seconds).Ifthedisabledvehicle
willnotstartafterseveralattempts,itmayneedtobe
repaired.PleasecontactanMGAuthorisedRepairer
foranoverhaul.
4Afterboththevehicleshavenormallystarted,allow
theenginestoidleformorethan2minutesbefore
shuttingdowntheengineofthedonorvehicleand
disconnectingthejumpercables.
5Disconnectthejumpercables.Thedisconnecting
processisoppositetotheconnectingprocess,i.e.
rstdisconnectingtheblacknegativejumpercable
fromtheearthpointofthedisabledvehicle.
IMPORTANT
DONOTswitchonanyelectricalequipmentinthe
poweredvehicleuntilthejumpercableshavebeen
disconnected.
