themaintenance.Aspecialmaintenanceoperationshould
becarriedout(refertoWarrantyandMaintenanceManual)
orcontactanMGAuthorisedRepairer.
SafetyintheGarage
Coolingfansmaycommenceoperatingafter
theengineisswitchedoff,andcontinue
operatingforanumberofminutes.Keep
clearofallfanswhileworkingintheengine
compartment.
Ifyouneedtocarryoutmaintenance,observethe
followingsafetyprecautionsatalltimes:
•Keepyourhandsandclothingawayfromdrivebeltsand
pulleys.
•Ifthecarhasbeendrivenrecently,Donottouch
exhaustandcoolingsystemcomponentsuntilthe
enginehascooled.
•Donottouchelectricalleadsorcomponentswhilethe
engineisrunning,orwiththeignitionswitchon.
•NEVERleavetheenginerunninginanunventilatedarea
-exhaustgasesarepoisonousandextremelydangerous.
•Donotworkunderneaththecarwithawheelchanging
jackastheonlymeansofsupport.
•Ensurethatsparksandnakedlightsarefarawayfrom
theenginecompartment.
•Wearprotectiveclothingandworkgloves.
•Removewatchesandjewelrybeforeworkinginthe
enginecompartment.
•Donotallowtoolsormetalpartsofthecartomake
contactwiththebatteryleadsorterminals.
T oxicLiquid
Theliquidsusedinthevehiclearetoxicandshallnot
beswallowedorcontactedwithopenwounds.These
include:batteryacid,antifreeze,coolant,brakeuid,
powersteeringuid,fuel,engineoilandwindscreen
washeruid.
