DANGER
There is a risk of battery explosion,
which can cause burns from battery
acid and could lead to electrical
short circuits, resulting in personal
injury or vehicle damage.
• Keep the battery away from
flames or sparks. Avoid leaning
over the battery during jump-
starting.
• Prevent the cable terminals from
touching each other.
• Wear safety goggles when
working near the battery.
• Avoid contact between battery
acid and eyes, skin, fabric, or
paint surfaces.
• Make sure the replacement
automotive battery for jump-
starting matches the voltage of
the original vehicle battery.
• Do not disconnect a dead
battery from the vehicle.
Failure to follow these precautions
or instructions could lead to a
battery explosion, causing burns
from battery acid or electrical
system damage in both vehicles,
and serious personal injury.
WARNING
!
When connecting the jumper cables
to charge a vehicle:
• When jump-starting your vehicle,
prevent the positive (+) and
negative (-) cables from touching
each other. A spark could result in
personal injury.
• Avoid connecting to the negative
(-) terminal of the battery last. -
Instead, attach the final clip to a
metal part of the car's body, away
from the battery. Do not connect it
to any components.
• Connecting the jumper cable to
the negative terminal of a dead
battery could create sparks and
lead to the battery exploding. A
spark could cause the battery to
explode, resulting in personal
injury or vehicle damage.
• This can cause severe injuries or
harm to the vehicle.
• Connecting jumper cables to
components can also damage
them.
