UC360 Administration Guide

Bandwidth Requirements Peer-to-Peer
The UC360 defaults to a maximum transmission bit rate of 1.5Mbs. UC360 SOHO endpoints
connected to the internet via an MiVoice Border Gateway can support 64kbs codecs: G722.1,
G711 u-law, and G711 alaw.
There is no guarantee that the remote endpoint will reduce its transmission bit rate so the
downlink minimum requirement is 2Mbs. The minimum UC360 bandwidth requirement for
high-quality voice and video in peer-to-peer mode is as follows:
High (default 1.5 Mbs video) requires a 2Mbs uplink connection to the internet.
Mid (1 Mbs video) requires a 1.5Mbs uplink connection to the internet
Min (512 Kbs video) requires a 1Mbs uplink connection to the internet.
Dynamic Bandwidth Allocation (DBA)
DBA is an algorithm the UC360 uses to lower its transmitted bit rate according to the packet
loss feedback it receives from the remote end. Since the UC360 is connected to the remote
end via an MiVoice Border Gateway, the UC360 should have its DBA disabled.
Disable Enable Dynamic Bandwidth Adaptation under Video Settings.
