• When the indicator lamp illuminates
Wait until the indicator lamp goes out.
While holding down the brake pedal, turn the
starter switch to the “START” position to start the
engine.
NOTE:
If the engine is difficult to start after the indicator
lamp has gone out, there may be a problem with the
engine preheating system. Have the vehicle
inspected by an authorized dealer.
4. After the engine has started, let it warm up for 1

3 Starting the engine when vehicle has
been parked over an extended period
When the vehicle is not used for a week or more or
when the engine oil and oil filter are replaced, the
engine becomes starved of oil. Before the engine is
started, therefore, it must be cranked in accordance
with the following procedure to distribute oil to its
various components.
