channel, the radio is not able to receive clear or
unscrambled transmissions.
Your radio supports two analog scrambling codes that can
be toggled via the programmable button.
Making 5-Tone Calls
A Software License Key sold separately is required to use
this feature.
Follow the procedure to make a 5-Tone Call:
1 Select the 5-Tone channel with the required contact
or status list.
2 Press the PTT button to make the call.
The green LED lights up. The PTT Sidetone sounds.
The display shows TEL when the radio is sending
the telegram.
3 Wait for acknowledgment.
If successful:
A positive indicator tone sounds.
The display shows a positive mini notice.
The display shows SEL momentarily to indicate
that the radio has entered call state.
Wait for the Talk Permit Tone to end and speak
clearly into the microphone if enabled.
If unsuccessful:
A negative indicator tone sounds.
The display shows a negative mini notice.
The positive mini notice is not displayed if call encode
without acknowledgement is enabled.
Receiving 5-Tone Calls
A Software License Key sold separately is required to use
this feature.
When you receive a 5-Tone Call:
The green LED blinks.
A tone sounds.
The display shows SEL momentarily.
Your radio unmutes and the incoming call sounds
through the speaker.
