SUGGESTION

•Batterychargingmustoccuronlyinnon-hazardousareas.
•Cleantheconnectorfrequentlyandbeforetheprogrammingprocedureforexample,witha
softbrush(donotuseuids).

Donotstoreyourbatterywherethetemperaturesexceed+65°Corfallbelow-20°C.NewLithium-Ionbatteries
maybestoredinventilated,coolanddryareaswithsomecapacitylossinthelifecycle.Itisnotrecommendedto
storethebatterieswhentheyarefullychargedordischarged.
D.2ExtendingBatteryLife
Abatteryisanexpendablepartandmayneedreplacingduringthelifeoftheradio.Toensuremaximumservice
lifeofyourradio,alwaysreplacethebatterywithagenuineMotorolareplacement.Inordertoensuremaximum
lifeforyourbattery:
•Donotchargeitunlessnecessary(lowbatteryindication).
•Chargeituntilfullchargeindicationison.
•Turnofftheradiobeforecharging.
D.3BatteryChargingTemperature
Yourchargeronlychargesyourbatterywhenitisattemperaturerangeof1°Cto37°C.Asthetemperaturegets
colder(closeto0°C)lesscapacityisstoredinthebattery.
If,duringcharging,thetemperatureisoutofrange,thebatterymightnotbefullychargedsincethechargingis
temporarilystoppeduntilthetemperaturebecomessuitable.Thetemperaturerangeofbatteryoperationisfrom0°C
to+45°Cinchargermodeandfrom-10°Cto
+60°Cindischargemode.
D.4BatteryChargingRules
Generally,toreducethenumberofchargecyclesasmuchasyoucan,waitfortheLowBatterymessagetocharge,
asitensuresmaximumbatterylife.Donotuseyourchargerasaradioholderorleaveyourradioandfullycharged
batteryconnectedtothechargerwhilenotcharging.Continuouschargingshortensthebatterylife.
