TheEmergencyAlarmisaspecialstatusmessagesenttotheinfrastructureonenteringtheEmergencyMode.The
radiomaywaitforinfrastructureacknowledgmentforthisalarmandattemptretries.
EachtimetheradioenterstheEmergencyMode,itsendsanEmergencyAlarm.WhenanEmergencyAlarmissent
successfully,yourradioplaysEmergencyAlarmSenttone.DuetoabsenceofthedeliveryconrmationinDMO
Mode,AlarmSentinformationconrmsonlysendingthealarm.
Inaddition,oncetheradioisintheEmergencyModeonpressingtheEMERGENCYbutton,anadditional
EmergencyAlarmissent.ThemessagecanbedispatchedbothinTMOandDMOModes.
YourserviceprovidercandisabletheEmergencyAlarmfeature.
3.6.5HotMicrophone
TheHotMicrophoneallowsyoutotalkwithoutpressingthePTTbuttononenteringtheEmergencyMode.The
transmissioncontinuesforaprovisionedamountoftime.
PressingthePTTbuttonbeforetheHotMicrophonetimeexpiresendsthetransmission.ThennormalPTToperation
takesover(thatis,thetransitionisongoingforthetimethePTTbuttonisheld).SubsequentEMERGENCYbutton
pressesduringtheEmergencyModeinitiatestheHotMicrophonetransmissionagain.
Ifatalkpermitisgrantedtoanothermemberofthegroup,theEmergencyCallreceivedtoneisplayed.Ifcongured,
theradioautomaticallyattemptstogettalkpermitagain.
3.6.6AlternatingHotMicrophone
TheAlternatingHotMicrophoneisanenhancementoftheHotMicrophonefeature.ItallowsyoutohavetheHot
Microphoneswitchedonandoffalternately.
Ifthisfeatureisenabled,youcaninitiatetheAlternatingHotMicrophonebypressingtheEMERGENCYbutton.
TheAlternatingHotMicrophoneterminateswhenoneofthefollowingconditionsismet:
•TheradioexitstheEmergencyMode.
•TheAlternatingHotMicrophonetimerexpires.
•ThePTTbuttonispressed.
•EndSOFTkeyispressed(onlyduringtransmissiontimeslot).
Toskipyourtransmissiontimeslotandjumptoareceivingtimeslot,pressENDkey.
Whentheradiogoesoutoftheservice,itentersthereceivingmodeandtheAlternatingHotMicrophone
isonhold.Whentheradioisbacktotheservice,theHotMicrophonetransmissionandtheAlternating
HotMicrophoneresume.
