WhileintheEmergencyMode,youareabletoinitiateandreceiveanEmergencyGroupCall.Thisspecialcallis
initiatedbypressingtheEMERGENCYbutton.
IfaradioreceivesanincomingGroupCallwithemergencypriority,thedisplayshowsthatanEmergencyGroupCall
hasbeenreceived,andaspecialaudioalertisplayed.YourradioautomaticallyswitchestotheEmergencyMode.
TheaudioforanEmergencyGroupCallalwaysgoesthroughthespeaker(highaudio),evenifthelowaudio
isselected.
AnEmergencyGroupCallcanbeconguredas:
•Non-tactical—callonatalkgrouppredenedbyyourserviceprovider.Thegroupmightbedifferentthan
theoneselectedinitially.Afterexitingfromnon-tacticalEmergencyModetheradioisattachedtothegroup
thatwasselectedbeforeinitiatingthenon-tacticalcall.Wheninnon-tacticalEmergencyMode,youare
notabletoswitchtalkgroups.DGNAmessageshavenoimpactduringnon-tacticalEmergencyModebut
onlyafterexitingthenon-tacticalEmergencyMode.
•Tactical—callonthecurrentlyselectedtalkgroup.
EmergencyGroupCallsinTMO
IftheradioentersEmergencyModewhiletheEmergencyBroadcastCallisactive,theradiocontinuesonthecall
withoutinitiatinganycallsandsendsanEmergencyAlarm.Thebehaviordependsonyourserviceprovidersettings.
WhentheEmergencyGroupCallyouparticipateinterminates,yourradiocanbehaveinseveralways,dependingon
yourserviceprovidersettings:
•Ifyouarethecallinitiator,theradiocaneitherstayintheEmergencyMode,orreturntoTMOMode.
•Ifyouarenotthecallinitiator,theradioalwaysreturnstoTMOMode.

InDMO,EmergencyGroupCallsthroughagatewayaresupported.
3.6.2EmergencyPrivateCall
TheEmergencyPrivateCallsareSimplexorDuplexPrivateCallswithemergencypriority.Onpressingthe
EMERGENCYbutton,theradioinitiatesaPrivateCallwithemergencycallprioritytotheprovisionedaddress.No
EmergencyAlarmissentandyourradiodoesnotentertheEmergencyMode.Thispseudoemergencystate(alluser
indicationandrejectionofotherservices)endsassoonastheEmergencyPrivateCallends.
3.6.3EmergencyMS-ISDNCall
TheEmergencyMS-ISDNcallsaresimplexorduplextelephonecallswithemergencypriority.Onpressingthe
EMERGENCYbutton,yourradioinitiatesanEmergencyMS-ISDNcalltothepredenedMS-ISDNnumber.
TheMS-ISDNcalltype(simplexorduplex)ispredenedbyyourserviceprovider.
