1.2 Special User Instructions
1. Anadequaterespiratoryprotectionprogrammustincludeknowledgeofhazards,hazardassessment,selectionof
properrespiratoryprotectiveequipment,instructionandtrainingintheuseofequipment,inspectionand
maintenanceofequipment,andmedicalsurveillance.[SeeOSHAregulations,Title29CFR,Part1910.134]
2. Thisrespiratorwillperformasdesignedonlyifusedandmaintainedaccordingtothemanufacturer’sinstructions.
TheProgramAdministratorandtheusersmustreadandunderstandtheseinstructionsbeforetryingtouseor
servicethisproduct.Weencourageourcustomerstowriteorcallforinformationonthisproductbeforeusingit.
3. ThisrespiratormaybeusedonlyafterproperinstructionandtraininginitsuseasspecifiedinOSHAregulations[Title
29CFR,Part1910.134].
4. Thisrespiratormaybewornforescapeonlyfromatmosphereswhichareimmediatelydangeroustolifeorhealthas
definedinTitle42CFR,Part84,orfromwhichthewearercannotescapewithouttheaidofarespirator.Underno
circumstancesshouldtherespiratorbeusedasanunderwaterdevice.
5. Approvedforuseattemperaturesabove0°F.
6. TomaintainNIOSHapproval,theairusedinthecylindermustmeettherequirementsoftheCompressedGas
AssociationSpecificationG-7.1forqualityverificationlevel(grade)Dairorequivalentspecifications.Thecylinder
shallmeetapplicableDOTspecifications.
7. Wearimpermeableprotectiveclothingforexposuretogasesorvaporswhichcanpoisonbyskinabsorption.
8. Donotalter,modify,orsubstituteanycomponentswithouttheapprovalofthemanufacturer.Alterationswillvoidthe
NIOSHapproval.
9. Inspecttherespiratorregularlyandmaintainitaccordingtothemanufacturer’sinstructions.Repairsmustonlybe
madebyproperlytrainedpersonnel.
