Watch or record TV shows
You can watch or record all your favorite shows by using Media Center Extender.
You can record all the shows in a series, shows that feature a favorite actor, and
more. Although you can watch the recorded shows on the Media Center Extender, the
recorded TV files are still stored on the Windows Media Center computer.
What equipment do I need?
To use a Windows Media Center Extender, you need the following hardware and
software:
A wired or wireless home network.
A Media Center Extender
A Windows Media Center Extender can be a networked device, such as a networked
TV or DVD player, that has Media Center Extender functionality built in. Your Xbox
360 can function as a Windows Media Center Extender as well. Therefore, you can use
your Xbox 360 and set up a Media Center Extender so that you can play digital media
content that is stored on your Windows Media Center computer by using Xbox 360.
When you are using Xbox 360 as a Media Center Extender, you can use either the
Xbox 360 remote control or an Xbox 360 controller.
A Windows Media Center computer
You need to have a Windows Media Center computer that is running on the Windows
Vista Ultimate or Windows Vista Home Premium operating system.
