NOTE:Itisimportantto preventgumdepositsfrom
forminginessentialfuel systempartsof the enginesuch
asthecarburetor,fuel filter,fuelhoseor tankduring
storage.
CAUTION:Alcohol blended fuels (called gasohol
or using ethanol or methanol) canattract moisture
which leads toseparation and formation of acids
during storage. Acidic gas candamagethe fuel
system of an engine while in storage.
Toavoidengineproblems,thefuel systemshouldbe
emptiedbeforestoragefor 30daysor longer.Follow
theseinstructionsto prepareyour snowthrowerfor
storage:

1. Removeallgasolinefromthe carburetorandthefuel
tankto preventgumdepositsfromformingon these
partsandharmingthe engine.
2. Runtheengineuntilthefueltankis emptyandit
stopsduetolackof fuel.
3. Draincarburetorbypressingupwardon bowldrain,
locatedbelowthe carburetorcover. SeeFigure14.

onstabilizercontainer.Runengineat least10minutes
afteraddingstabilizerto allowit to reachthe carburetor.
Donotdraincarburetorifusingfuelstabilizer.
4. Removethesparkplugandpourone(1)ounce
ofengineoil throughthe sparkplugholeinto the
cylinder.Coversparkplugholewitha ragandcrank
theengineseveraltimestodistributethe oil. Replace
sparkplug.

Preparing Snow Thrower
1. Whenstoringthesnowthrowerinan unventilatedor
metalstorageshed,careshouldbetakento rustproof
theequipment.Usinga light oilor silicone,coatthe
equipment,especiallyanychains,springs,bearings
andcables.
2. Removealldirt fromexteriorof engineandequipment.
3. Followlubricationrecommendationson page12.
4. Storeequipmentina clean,dryarea.
