4. Insert the clutch/pinion gear assembly into the starter
gear housing.
See Figure 6.21.
5. Install the pinion gear. See Figure 6.22.
6. Mount the clutch/pinion cover to the starter gear
housing.
NOTE: Apply a thread locking compound, such as Loc-
tite® 262, to the threads of the screws before
installing them.
NOTE: The screw that lines up with the screw boss, indi-
cated by the arrow in Figure 6.23., is shorter than
the other two screws.
