13. Setting up a model helicopter
13.1. The method in principle
In our example we will set up a model memory for a
helicopter with 120° CCPM rotor head and electric
power system.
The following steps are necessary to ensure that the
model’s working systems operate correctly:
a. Set up a new model in the transmitter 13.2.
b. Prepare the transmitter controls / switches 13.3.
c. Check / change the servo assignment 13.4.
d. Check and adjust the main rotor 13.5.
e. Check and adjust the tail rotor 13.6.

Once you have completed these five steps, you will be
able to control the model’s basic functions - roll, pitch,
yaw and throttle / collective pitch.
At this point we can expand and refine the set-up:
f. Working with flight phases 13.10.
 Assign switches
Unlock / lock / name flight phases
 Set up transition times
 Set the correct values.

Note:
The definition of the model is not complete until you
confirm your selected settings with OK ( 13.2.7.).
13.2.2. Which model memory will be used?
New models are automatically stored in the trans-
mitter’s first vacant model memory: the memory num-
ber appears in the menu. Since you have no influence
over the memory number, this line in the menu is
skipped.
If all the memories are occupied, the screen displays:
Memory nr. -1
If you nevertheless attempt to set up the new model,
the following on-screen warning appears:
No memory free
 Press ENTER
13.2.3. Selecting the template
Note:
The model templates ( 11.5.) make it much easier
and quicker to set up new models, as they already
contain the essential assignments and adjustments.
You can check which template was used to create a
particular model by accessing the menu ¦Memory,
Properties.
Turn the 3-D digi-adjuster to the right until the select
bar stands in the Template line, then press the 3-D
digi-adjuster.
Now you can select the template HELIccpm from the
eight available templates, using the 3-D digi-adjuster:

13.2.4. Selecting the servo config(uration)
Note:
The servo configuration ( 11.6.) defines the order in
which the servos in the model have to be connected
to the receiver. The selected configuration is only a
suggestion, and can be changed subsequently in any
way you wish if the servos are connected to different
receiver outputs ( Menu: ¤, Assignment).
Rotate the 3-D digi-adjuster to the right until the select
bar is at the Servo conf. line, then press the 3-D
digi-adjuster.
