A closed padlock indicates that the value cannot
be altered at the moment (guarding against acci-
dental changes):
Aileron expo allocated to the right-hand 3-D digi-
adjuster
Value locked
If you wish to alter the value, press the allocate
button F for the 3-D digi-adjuster: the symbol
changes to an open padlock, and the values can
now be adjusted. Any change you make is im-
mediately stored:
Aileron expo allocated to the right-hand 3-D digi-
adjuster
Value unlocked
Another press on the allocate button for the 3-D
digi-adjuster blocks access to the values again
(symbol: closed padlock).
The locking / unlocking process applies to both 3-D
digi-adjusters together.
What can be allocated?
Virtually any parameter with numerical values can be
allocated. However, there are a few exceptions. For
example, the following screen shows that the para-
meter Step (trim increment size) cannot be allocated
in this way:
Numerical-value parameters which can be allocated
are marked with a high-set hyphen following the para-
meter name. If you attempt to allocate a parameter
which cannot be altered in this way, the following
symbol appears when you press the 3-D digi-adjuster:
ƒ
and an error beep sounds when you press one of the
3-D digi-adjusters.
Erasing an allocation:
This is the procedure for erasing an allocation:
1. Press and hold the corresponding 3-D digi-adjuster
in one of the “Status display” menus.
2. Press the (REV/CLR) button
the screen in the status displays 1 3 now
shows “-----------, to indicate that the allocation
has been erased.
Alternatively you can overwrite” an existing allocation
at any time simply by allocating a new parameter.
Note:
Allocated parameters cannot be reversed, i.e. it is not
possible to adjust the value beyond 0 or OFF, in order
to guard against accidentally reversing a function.
If you use the flight phase switching facility:
Set-up parameters which have different values in the
various flight phases are displayed according to the
currently active flight phase, and can therefore be ad-
justed separately for each flight phase using the ap-
propriate 3-D digi-adjuster.
20.2. PC data back-up / updating
The multi-function socket on the underside of the
ROYAL SX provides the functions Charge, Trainer, and
Diagnosis mode, and also acts as a serial interface to
a PC. Two functions are possible via this interface:
Access to transmitter data.
Operating model flight simulators.
Data exchange between transmitter and PC enables
you to carry out the following functions:
Saving model data on a PC (back-up).
Loading new software into the transmitter.
The last point in particular provides an entirely new
means of updating the transmitter software, and of
changing the on-screen language, using the Internet.
The software required for this is ROYAL SX Data
Manager”, which you can download from our Internet
website.
You will also need a connecting lead # 8 5148 (USB)
or # 8 5156 (serial connection, COM port), both of
which are available as accessories.
