61Installing the Water Heater
WARNING
●
ALWAYS install the High Altitude Conversion
Kit if needed based on the elevation of the
installation location.
●
For use with Propane (LP) gas, the Propane
Gas & High Altitude Conversion Kit MUST be
used for elevations up to 10,100 ft.
●
The Natural Gas High Altitude Conversion Kit
is located inside the water heater cabinet. You
will need to remove the front cover to access
the Natural Gas High Altitude Conversion Kit.
●
Refer to the Natural Gas High Altitude
Conversion Guide and verify the orifice is
appropriate for the water heater. Replace
the orifice following the Natural Gas High
Altitude Conversion Guide instructions if
required.

Setting Up the Altitude
1. Press and hold the Menu button ( ) and the
Back button (
) simultaneously for 3 seconds
on the front panel to access the Service/Installer
menu.
2. Select 1. Installer Menu > 2. Parameter
Settings > 14. Altitude Setting by pressing the
OK button (
) and set up the altitude.

* Natural gas units require the use of a high
altitude conversion kit if installed at an
elevation of 5,400 ft (1,646 m) or higher.
