WARNING!Risk of personal injury
The equipment room should be ventilated,
see Section4.1Site.
An exhaust air duct should be connected that
leads off the hot exhaust air to the outside.
The exhaust air can contain toxic gases and
dust particles. Consequently, the duct should
lead to where this type of discharge is per-
mitted. See Section4.3Connections.
A vacuum installation creates a powerful va-
cuum that can seriously injure eyes and ears
in the event of contact with a suction open-
ing, for example, a hose coupling. Persons
that in some way come into contact with the
unit should be informed of this.
Never look into the exhaust air duct. If dust
is thrown out of the exhaust air duct it can
cause serious injury to the eyes or other body
parts.
Some types of dust can cause a dust explo-
sion and/or fire. Checks should be made prior
to installation whether the dust to be picked
up by the system constitutes a risk. Any risk
can affect the choice of setup area and can,
in some cases, result in the need to modify
the unit. The choice of pipework can signific-
antly influence the risk of a dust explosion,
see Section4.3Connections.
Self-ignition can occur with certain types of
dust. Under no circumstances may magnesi-
um and titanium dust be sucked up into the
system. Accumulated welding fumes from
ordinary steel welding do not self-ignite but
can be ignited by a cigarette sucked into the
system. A fire in accumulated welding fumes
does not spread quickly but it is hard to extin-
guish.
The unit should be safely anchored to the
floor. See Section4.1Site.
CAUTION!Risk of equipment damage
The duct should be positioned and designed
so that objects cannot fall down into the unit,
which would then be seriously damaged.
3Description
The vacuum unit L-PAK 150, L-PAK 250 is primarily
used for the local extraction of dust when, for ex-
ample, grinding, cutting and for vapours/gases when
welding and for general cleaning of benches, floors
and the like.
The dusty air is sucked up via a pipe system into the
unit and is cleaned. The dust is collected in a bin and
the cleaned air is sucked via the filter and fan out from
the premises. The unit is controlled via an integrated
start and control unit.
L-PAK 150, L-PAK 250 can be a part of a local exhaust
ventilation system for separating welding fumes con-
taining CMR (carcinogenic mutagenic reprotoxic) sub-
stances, where the complete system must be in com-
pliance with required legislations, see www.who.int
for classification of welding fumes.
