If your modem uses a battery backup, put the battery back in.
3.
Connect your modem to the WAN/LAN1 port of your router with the Ethernet cable
that came with your router.
4. Connect the power adapter to your router and plug the power adapter into an outlet.

You can now access the router web interface (see Connect to Your Network and Access
the Router on page 13) and configure the router’s WAN/LAN1 port to function as a
WAN port (see Change the function of the WAN/LAN1 port on page 67).
