This page provides some general configuration options which will be applied when op-
erating on keys and certificates.
If keys, certificates and signing requests are generated locally, the following settings will
be take into account:
Parameter Certificate Configuration
Organisation (O) The certificate owner’s organization
Department (OU) The name of the organizational unit to which the certificate
issuer belongs
Location (L) The certificate owner’s location
State (ST) The certificate owner’s state
Country (C) The certificate owner’s country (usually a TLD abbrevia-
tion)
