The YP-970 Infant Incubator is a high-risk medical device designed to provide a controlled thermal environment and isolation from ambient air for premature and neonatal infants. It is intended for use in neonate nursing rooms, children's nursing rooms, pediatric intensive care units, or similar sickrooms in hospitals. Operators must be specially trained and use the device under the instruction of a medical practitioner. The incubator is not intended for the transport of infants.
Function Description
The Infant Incubator adopts a comprehensive control system including:
- Temperature Control System: Features both Air Mode and Baby Mode.
- Heat Output Control in Air Mode: Automatically controls the heater's output based on the air temperature sensor. The air temperature control range is 25°C to 37°C, with an override mode extending to 37°C to 39°C.
- Heat Output Control in Baby Mode: Automatically controls the heater's output based on the skin temperature sensor. The baby temperature control range is 34°C to 37°C, with an override mode extending to 37°C to 38°C. The system includes two skin sensors, with skin sensor 1 acting as the primary control sensor and skin sensor 2 for assistant observation. The incubator will slowly raise air temperature at 1°C per hour if the baby's skin temperature is more than 2°C below the set temperature, to prevent rapid temperature changes. If the baby's skin temperature exceeds the set temperature by less than 0.5°C, the air temperature will not lower more than 5°C below the baby's skin temperature. If it exceeds the set temperature by more than 0.5°C, the air temperature will not drop below 25°C.
- Humidity Control System: Autocontrols the humidifier based on humidity detected by the humidity sensor. The humidity display range is 0%RH to 99%RH, with a control range of 0% to 90% (adjustable in 1% increments). The accuracy of humidity display is ±10%RH (at environmental temperature 20°C-40°C, environmental humidity 10%-90%).
- Oxygen Concentration Control System: Autocontrols a valve based on oxygen concentration detected by the oxygen concentration sensor. The oxygen display range is 0% to 99%, with a resolving power of 1% and an accuracy of ±3%. The oxygen setting range is 20% to 60% (adjustable in 1% increments).
- Weighing System (Optional): Provides weighing functionality with a range of 100g to 8000g, a resolving power of 1g, and an accuracy of ±1%. The reset range is 0g to 2000g.
The control of temperature, humidity, and oxygen concentration within the hood is achieved through a forced air circulation system. Filtered outside air flows through a heater, then into the hood via an inlet port, driven by a fan motor, forming a heat air cycle. When the oxygen control function is active, oxygen flows through an input connector, electromagnetism valve, and air-oxygen separating device, then into the heat air cycle flow. An air curtain system ensures temperature stability when the access panel is open.
The device is equipped with an RS-232 data communication connector for data terminal output.

Usage Features
- Components: Consists of a double-wall hood, base, mobile cabinet (fixed or vertical height adjustment type), and controller. The mattress is sponge-based and centrally positioned. Optional accessories include a VHA cabinet, weighing system, and Neonate Bilirubin Phototherapy Equipment (fluorescent or LED lamp).
- Casters: Equipped with four casters, two with brakes, for mobility. Casters with brakes must be installed in front of the cabinet.
- I.V. Pole and Shelf: Bearing parts for infusion bottles (Max. Load: 2Kg) and small objects (Max. Load: 3.5Kg) respectively.
- Controller Interface: Features indicators for oxygen concentration, humidity, set temperature, air temperature, skin temperature, heater power, baby mode, battery condition, >37°C mode, and various alarms. Keys include oxygen concentration indicator, humidity indicator, keypad lock, baby mode, >37°C setting, silence/reset, set up/down, zero, and calibration.
- Alarms: Comprehensive alarm system for power failure, box position, sensor failures (air, isolated, skin 1, skin 2, humidity, oxygen 1, oxygen 2), temperature deviations (high/low temp, temp not same, over temp), airflow sensor, fan motor, high/low humidity, high/low oxygen, oxygen not same, low water, tank position, and system failures. Most alarms automatically cut off heater power, except for low deviation, oxygen concentration, and humidity sensor alarms.
- Pre-warm Function: Recommended to pre-warm the incubator in Air Mode to a proper control temperature before placing the infant, to prevent a decrease in the infant's body temperature.
- Skin Sensor Attachment: In Baby Mode, skin sensor 1 must be closely attached to the patient's skin, typically between the xiphoid and belly button (if on back) or on the kidney (if bent over), and fixed with a medical staple.
- Mattress Tilt Mechanism: Allows adjustment of the mattress angle.
- Air Intake Filter: Must be checked and cleaned regularly (every two months) to prevent CO2 build-up and maintain oxygen concentration.
- Vertical Height Adjustment (Optional): The VHA cabinet allows height adjustment using foot buttons.
- Time Setting: The controller displays current time and allows setting year, month, day, week, hour, minute, and second.
Maintenance Features
- Cleaning and Sterilization: The device must be fully cleaned and sterilized for initial use, after nursing each baby, or weekly/when dirty.
- Disassembly: Controller, bassinet, air curtain, main deck, inner wall, air intake tube connector, and reservoir can be disassembled for cleaning.
- Cleaning Agents: Use national registered neutral disinfectant-detergent for all surfaces. Avoid alcohol, acetone, or organic solvents on acrylic panels. Do not spray cleaning solutions onto electrical components.
- Heater and Fan: Must be cleaned to prevent accumulation of fiber dust, which can affect airflow, temperature control, and CO2 concentration. Ensure the heater is completely cooled before cleaning.
- Water Tank: Clean thoroughly every time before adding distilled water. Ensure the water inlet and reek outlet holes are clear. Use only distilled water to prolong the humidity device's lifetime and change it every 24 hours.
- Mattress Cover: Clean with neutral disinfectant-detergent and sun-dry.
- Air Filter: Clean with neutral disinfectant-detergent. Replace if dirty or used for more than 2 months.
- Reassembly: Reassemble parts in reverse order after cleaning, checking for cracks or damage.
- Battery Check: Check the rechargeable battery condition before first use or during alternation of device use. The power failure alarm should activate and last at least 10 minutes when disconnected from AC power. Replace the battery if it fails this test.
- Troubleshooting Table: Provides guidance for common issues and their remedies, including power problems, sensor errors, temperature deviations, humidity issues, oxygen concentration problems, and weighing inaccuracies.
- Oxygen Sensor Maintenance: Replace the oxygen concentration sensor when its lifetime is due (10000h MAX. with 100% oxygen) to ensure detection accuracy, as the electrolyte is consumed over time.
- Calibration: The weighing system and oxygen concentration control system require calibration.
- Weighing System Calibration: Requires removing all articles from the bassinet, performing a zero reset, and then placing a 5000g standard poise on the bassinet for calibration.
- Oxygen Concentration Calibration: Supports 21% and 100% oxygen concentration calibration. For 21% calibration, the incubator should be in an environment with 21% oxygen. For 100% calibration, an oxygen calibration device supplying 100% oxygen must be connected to the sensor box.
