5. Phone book (Names)
You can save names and phone numbers in 
the phone’s memory (internal phone book) or 
in the SIM card’s memory (SIM phone book).
• The internal phone book can save up to 
500 names with numbers and textual 
notes for each name. The total amount of 
names that can be saved depends on the 
length of the names, numbers and text 
items. 
• The phone supports SIM cards that can 
save up to 250 names and phone numbers. 
Names and numbers saved in the SIM 
card´s memory are indicated by  .
■ Selecting the phone book 
settings
1. Press Names and select Settings.
2. Select Memory in use, and select one of 
the following options:
Phone and SIM to recall names and 
numbers from both phone books. The 
names and numbers will be saved in the 
phone’s memory.
Phone to use the phone’s internal phone 
book.
SIM card to use the SIM card’s phone 
book.
3. Select Phone book view and select one of 
the following options:
Name list to show three names at a time.
Name and no. to show one name and 
phone number at a time.
Large font to show only the name. 
4. Select Memory status. Select Phone or SIM 
card to see how many names and phone 
numbers are currently saved and how 
many can still be saved in the selected 
phone book.
■ Saving names and phone
numbers (Add name)
Names and numbers will be saved in the 
memory being used, see Selecting the phone 
book settings above.
1. Press Names and select Add name.
2. Key in the name and press OK. See 
”Writing text” on page 18. 
3. Key in the phone number, and press OK. To 
key in the numbers, see ”Making a call” on 
page 16.
4. When the name and number are saved, 
press Done.
Tip: Quick save
In standby mode, key in the phone 
number. Press Options, and select 
Save. Key in the name and press OK. 
Saving multiple numbers and text
items per name
You can save up to five phone numbers and 
four brief text items in the phone’s internal 
phone book for each name. Text items under 
one name can be street and e-mail addresses, 
a note and a web address. 
The first number saved under a name is 
automatically set as the default number, and 
is indicated with  . When you select a 
name from the phone book, for example, to 
make a call, the default number is used unless 
you select another number.
1. Make sure that the memory in use is either 
Phone or Phone and SIM. See ”Selecting 
the phone book settings” on page 20.
2. To access the list of names and phone 
numbers, press   or   in 
standby mode.
