Chapter Three BIOS SET UP
AMI BIOS Refresh
BIOS provides the underlying driver of hardware resources and is the bridge between
hardware and operating system. Hardware and software are upgrading all the time, so when
your system goes wrong, for example, your system can not support the newest CPU, you need
to upgrade BIOS to keep up with the latest technology.
Please use the USB flash disk of the bootable DOS system to enter the pure DOS
environment, and then use the AFUDOS.EXE or Fpt.EXE program to write the BIOS data you
used to upgrade to the flash IC.
Specific Command
C:\AFUDOS 6922I101.ROM /P /B /N /X /R (recommended)
or
C:\ Fpt XXXX.bin -bios
If you need to add other parameters after the order format, please add space /
Reminder
1BIOS file has two formats8M xxxx.bin (including ME,GBE,BIOS) 2.5M ROM file (only
including BIOS . ROM file can refresh QM77/QM67BIN file has two kindsfor example
6922I701.BIN/6922I601.BIN. 7/6 after letter I stands for South Bridge Model QM77/QM67.
When updating ME, you need to select the BIN file corresponding to South Bridge.
2BIOS Flash is only executed when it is necessary.
3Please use the BIOS SETUP programs in the CD-ROM provided by us or download the
latest version on related websites.
4 Please do not power off or reboot the system during BIOS upgrading, otherwise, the
BIOS maybe be damaged or system may not be able to boot again.
5After finishing BIOS flash, users need to manually select to enter BIOS SETUP LOAD
DEFAULT to optimize
6To prevent any unexpected problems, please backup your BIOS in advance.
AMI BIOS Description
When the computer is power on, BIOS will conduct self-diagnosis to its hardware on
motherboard and configure hardware parameter; finally the operating system will take control.
Correct configuration of BIOS is critical for maintaining system stability and its optimized
performance.
