3 OPERATING LOGIC
3.1 Automatic mode
This mode may be turned on from the remote control or by pressing the
button on the machine (H). The temperature and operating mode are
managed automatically using the following parameters:
INTERNAL AMBIENT
TEMPERATURE
MODE INTERNAL FAN
T < 17°C
HIGH speed
17°C< T < 19°C
LOW speed
LOW speed
LOW speed
HIGH speed
After several changes, the fan speed or the operating mode remain the
same for at least 3 minutes to avoid annoying oscillations.
In this operating mode, ambient temperature correction is always turned
off (even if bit 1 of the mch_id parameter is active) and the louver is
forced into auto swing only if automatic mode was turned on using the
button on the unit (H).
3.2 Cooling mode
In this mode, the unit dehumidifies and cools the environment. This
operation must however be preceded by setting the desired temperature
and selecting the fan speed. After 3 minutes (maximum time) following
activation of the same, the compressor turns on and the unit starts to
generate cold air. If the internal temperature is lower than the
temperature set point the compressor does not turn on. This mode may
be selected only from the remote control (LED DL1 is always ON in this
operating mode).
The condensate disposal actuator is always off except in the following
two cases:
1. If
the pump has run continuously for 60 sec., the condensate
disposal actuator is turned on for 3 min. After this time, the actuator
is turned off. The 3 min. that the actuator is turned on is regardless
of the selected operating mode.
2. If the external temperature < 15°C(59°F), the condensate disposal
actuator is turned on until the external temperature > 17°C(62.6°F)
or the unit is placed in standby.
The internal fan is always powered on and runs at the selected speed for
any compressor status (except during overheating of the external heat
exchanger, when it is off). If automatic fan speed is selected, check for
the following conditions (regardless of compressor status):
- Tset < Troom < 3°C
(5.4°F): low speed.
- Tset+3°C(5.4°F): < Troom < Tset+6°C(10.8°F):: medium speed.
- Troom > Tset + 6°C(10.8°F):: high speed.
After every change, the fan speed or the operating mode stay the same
for at least 3 minutes to avoid annoying oscillations.
The desired temperature (Tset) may be adjusted via the remote control
from 18°C(64.4°F): to 30°C(86°F): in increments of 1°C(2°F):.
After 3 minutes have passed following activation or the prior compressor
shutdown, the compressor and the external fan are turned on if Troom >
Tset+Tdtr (Tdtr = hysteresis) and Troom < Tset (if when turned on, Tset <
Troom < Tset+Tdtr the compressor and the external fan are turned on).
The external fan speed is linked to the temperature of the external heat
exchanger, independent of the internal fan speed set, according to the
following diagram:
Starting with the external fan set to OFF, when the temperature of the
external heat exchanger (TBE) exceeds Tbe+offlow (ID150, EEPROM
address 47), the external fan starts at low speed (without delay). As soon
as TBE exceeds the Tbe_low-med (ID150, EEPROM address 22)
parameter, the external fan goes from low speed to medium speed
(without any delay); when TBE exceeds Tbe_medmax (ID150, EEPROM
address 21) the external fan goes from medium speed to high speed
(without any delay). If TBE falls below Tbe_medmax – Tbe_delta
(Tbe_delta has ID150, EEPROM address 46), the external fan goes from
high to medium speed, but only if the t_delay (sec) time (ID150,
EEPROM address 38) has already passed at high speed. If TBE falls
below Tbe_lowmed – Tbe_delta, the external fan goes to low speed “from
any prior speed (medium or high), but only if t_delay seconds have
passed at the prior speed. Similarly, if TBE falls below Tbe_offlow –
Tbe_delta, the external fan may be turned off, but only if t_delay seconds
have passed at the prior speed. In other words, depending on the values
of TBE, the external fan speed may be increased without delay, while it
may be reduced only if the current speed is maintained for t_delay
seconds.
In cooling mode, only when the compressor is on, if the pump switch is
closed (normally open), the condensate pump turns on and stays on until
t_spscon seconds have passed or as long as the pump switch remains
closed. If the pump remains on for more than 1 minute (continuously, the
condensate disposal actuator must be turned on for 3 minutes. After his
period of time, the condensate disposal actuator is switched OFF (if
however, the operating mode is switched to heat, the condensate disposal
actuator will remain ON).
