During the defrosting function, the machine operates as follows:
The compressor and both the fans are turned off.
- After t_dq seconds, the 4-way valve is powered off.
- After t_d2 seconds the compressor turns on, and this is true until
TBE > T_batexfs or until t_ms minutes have passed. Then the
compressor is turned off.
- After t_d3 seconds, the 4-way valve is powered on.
- After t_d4 seconds the next heating cycle can start (if Troom (+
Tcamb) < Tset-T_dtr, the external fan is turned on at low speed for
t_ac seconds. Toutdoor is acquired as Tbatex* and the compressor
starts to run, and so on).
Defrosting does not stop if Troom (+ Tcamb) > Tset or if the unit is placed
in standby (if a STBY mode is received during the defrost function, the
unit waits until defrosting is complete before turning off).
When exiting heating mode and starting any other mode (including
standby), the 4-way valve remains powered on for 2 minutes.
During this operating mode, only FS, TFS, HTI, CR / RL, DI, CKS and SV
are enabled, except during defrosting (via CF/RL alarm).
3.5 Dehumidification only mode
This mode may be selected only from the remote control. It works similar
to the cooling mode, except that:
internal fan speed is set to low speed (except during an external
exchanger overheating alarm when it is off).
the compressor may be turned on only after 3 minutes following the
function request (during this period only the internal fan runs at low
speed).
Tset is assumed to be equal to the Troom acquired shortly after
compressor activation (and it cannot then be changed, until the next
function request).
the compressor operating cycle is controlled as follows:
continuous mode access (min. 4 minutes) for Troom > Tset’°C
4 minutes ON and 4 minutes OFF for Tset-1°C(1.8°F)< Troom
< Tset’+ 1°C(1.8°F)
4 minutes ON and 8 minutes OFF for Tset’-3°C(5.4°F)
<
Troom, < Tset’-1°C(1.8°F)
off in continuous mode (min. 8 minutes) for Troom < Tset’-3°C
(5.4°F).
When the compressor is on, the external fan speed is set according to
TBE based on the same values as for cooling mode.
The anti-freeze function, management of condensate disposal and of the
condensate disposal pump are the same as in cooling mode (except for
the 4-way valve for 2 minutes if heating mode was previously selected.
3.6 Fan only mode
This mode may be selected only from the remote control. In this operating
mode, only the internal fan and LED DL1 are always powered on and it is
possible to select the desired fan speed at any time by pressing the
corresponding button on the remote control. All other outlets are
deactivated (except for the 4-way valve for 2 minutes if the heating mode
was previously selected.
The alarms/notices that are enabled are FS and SV.
The fan operating mode is not affected by the sensor temperature
readings.
It is possible to select the air outlet louver oscillation mode at any
time.
3.7 Nighttime comfort mode
This mode may be selected on the remote control by pressing the
corresponding button (nighttime comfort button) and it may be used only
in combination with cooling and heating modes. In cooling mode, when
the nighttime mode is turned on, the internal fan is forced to run at low
speed and Tset is automatically increased byC(1.8°F) after 1 hour and
1°C(1.8°F) after 2 hours (after any activation of a function or subsequent
change to Tset). In this case, the external fan continues to turn based on
the TBE value (actual speed depends on the TBE regardless of the
nighttime mode condition).
In heating mode, when nighttime mode is activated, the internal fan is set
to low speed. The external fan is set to medium speed and Tset
automatically decreases byC(3.6°F) after 1 hour and byC(3.6°F)
after 2 more hours (starting from any function activation or subsequent
change to Tset). All subprograms in heating mode are activated. When
nighttime function is disabled, when Tset is changed from the remote
control, when the unit is placed into standby mode or when the power
supply is interrupted, in all these situations the function timer is reset and
Tset is set to the most recent variable received from the remote control.
In this operating mode, all alarms/notices are enabled.
3.8 Auto restart function
After a power interruption, the unit behavior will depend on the value of
the parameter mch_id: if this parameter has bit 2 equal to zero (reset) the
unit will restart and go into standby mode. If bit 2 is equal to 1 (set) the
unit will restart resuming the prior operating mode (except for the auto
test function, in which case, after a blackout the device will be put into
standby). In any event, the compressor startup is delayed by 3 minutes
Upon each startup, a self-calibration of the air outlet louver is carried out.
3.9 Standby mode
This mode may be selected by pressing the corresponding button on the
remote control or by locally pressing the temporary button on the display
(in the latter case, the device goes into standby if the unit is on and is not
in any alarm state). In this state, all the LEDs and all the outlets are off
(from any prior operating mode), and alarms and notices are not
displayed.
By pressing the corresponding button on the remote control, all the
previously selected functions are restored (operating mode, temperature
set point, fan speed, timer setting and state, air outlet louver mode,
nighttime mode). If the air outlet louver was set to a specific fixed
position, upon restart the louver returns to the same position. In any
event, the compressor startup is delayed by 3 minutes after the previous
shutdown. When the unit is placed into standby mode, all the timers of
the subroutines are reset (except for the compressor pause time) and a
self-calibration of the air outlet louver is carried out.
