Adjusting the Coarse

Adjust the coarse adjustment knob tension using the tension adjustment
nng.
The
coarse
adjustment knob
tension
is
preadjusted
for
easy
use.
However,
If
desired you can change the tension using the tension adjustment
ring

Turning the ring
In
the direction
of
the
arrow increases tension.
and
vice
versa.
The tension
is
too
low
if the stage drops by itself or focus

lost after adjustment with the fine adjustment knob.
In
this case. turn
the ring
in
the direction of the arrow to increase tension.

Ordinarily,
the
hne
adjustment knob

used
with
the rubber
cap
attached.
Howaver, if space between the
knob
and the stage knobs
is
insuffictent
the cap may
be
removed.
The
cap
makes
it
easier to turn the fine
adjustment knob,
allowing more accurate focus.

to keep the objective from
bumping into the specimen and
to
simplify focusing.
After
focusing on
the specimen with the coarse adjustment knob, turn this lever

the direction
of
the arrow
to
set an upper limit on the coarse adjustment
movement After
changing
specimens, refocussing
is
easily
accomplished
by turning the coarse adjustment knob to the stopper position. then
making fine adjustments with the fine adjustment knob.
Stage
movement
with
the fine adjustment knob is not affected
by
this
stopper.
