If the subject of your composition is not
within the AF target mark and focusing is
not possible (as illustrated to the right),
try the following:

Focus lock — Focusing on subjects that are not in the
center of the frame

Focus on something within
the AF target mark. Press
the Shutter button halfway
to lock the focus.

Compose your picture (point
the camera towards the
subject) while keeping the
Shutter button pressed
halfway.

Press the Shutter button all the
way.
● The green lamp blinks.
T Focus and exposure are not locked. Release your finger from the
shutter button and the green lamp turns off. Position your subject
again. Repeat step 1 until the green lamp lights up without blinking.
● The frame in which you focus on a subject is different from the
frame in which you meter the light.
T Use AE lock (P. 94).
