ThisrecordercanbeusedwitheitherAAANi-MH
rechargeablebatteriesorAAAalkalinebatteries.Do
notuseanyothertypeofbattery.
1 Lightlypressdownonthebatterycover
releasebutton,thenopenthebattery
cover,asshownintheillustrationbelow.
2 InserttwoAAAbatteriesobservingthe
correctpolarity,thenclosethebattery
cover.
• Insertthebatteriesinthedirectionmarked
insidethebatterycompartment.When
insertingthebatteries,notethatthebattery
removaltapeisunderthebatteriesasshown
intheillustration.
• ThesuppliedNi-MHrechargeablebatteriesare
notfullycharged.Itisrecommendedtofully
chargethembeforeusingtherecorderforthe
firsttimeorafterthebatterieshavebeenleft
unattendedforalongtime(☞P.13).

thebatterylosespower.

Selecting battery type
Whentherecorderisturnedonafterinserting
orreplacingthebatteries,thebatterytype
selectionscreenisdisplayed.Onthisscreen,
select[Ni-MH]or[Alkaline]accordingtothe
typeofbatteriesused.Thevoltagedetection
methodoptimizedfortheselectedbattery
typeisset.
• When[ ]indicatorappearsonthedisplay,
chargeorreplacethebatteriesassoonas
possible.Whenthebatteryistooweak,[
]and
[BatteryLow]willappearonthedisplayandthe
recorderwillshutdown.
Replacing the batteries
1 Lightlypressdownonthebatterycover
releasebutton,thenopenthebattery
cover.
2 Pulluptheremovaltapetoremoveold
batteries.
• Whenpullingupthetape,thebatteriesmay
suddenlypopout.Besuretopressdownlightly
onthebatterieswithyourfingerwhilepullingup
thetape.
3 Insertnewbatteries.
