6.6 Automatic cleaning/disinfection
Compatible washer/disinfectors
The flexible endoscope is compatible with some washer/disinfectors such as the
ETD system distributed by Olympus. Refer to the respective instruction manual
for details on operation. For any other details, please contact your local Olympus
organization.
Automatic cleaning/disinfection procedure
• Make sure that all instruments have been securely fixed to the baskets.
Make sure that instruments do not touch each other.
• Instruments with lumens must be attached to special tubes with rinsing
devices. Make sure that all lumens are sufficiently rinsed. Check lumens
for free passage before starting the procedure.
• Do not overload washers/disinfectors.
• Remove the instruments from the washer/disinfector immediately when
the automatic procedure has stopped to prevent corrosion.
Cleaning/disinfection agents in automatic cleaning
Use only agents that safety are certified by Olympus for endoscopic instrument
cleaning/disinfection.
