• After autoclaving, allow the instruments to cool down
gradually to room temperature. Sudden changes in
temperature may damage the instruments. Never use cold
water or other liquids to accelerate cooling.
Steam sterilization conditions
Olympus recommends using steam sterilization in a prevacuum sterilizer. This
method has been validated for its germicidal effectiveness with most of the
Olympus instruments.
Olympus recommends that the instruments are autoclaved for 5 minutes at
132C – 134C in a prevacuum sterilizer.
Olympus products are designed for steam sterilization according to the following
standards:
