The following table shows the meaning of the indicators.
Switch Settings
Rotary Switches
Note Fiber Amplifier Units that use two unit numbers (E3X-DA6TW, E3X-DA8TW)
must be counted as two Units when counting the number of Sensors.
DIP Switch
Operating Mode Setting (Pin 1)
This pin sets the operating mode. The maximum number of Fiber Amplifier
Units that can be connected and the nodes that each Unit is allocated
depends on the operating mode, as follows:
Indicator Name Status Meaning
PWR (green) Power ON The communications power supply is
ON.
OFF The communications power supply is
OFF.
COMM (yellow) Communica-
tions
ON Normal CompoBus/S communica-
tions.
OFF A CompoBus/S communications error
has occurred or the Unit is in standby
status.
ERR (red) Communica-
tions error
ON A CompoBus/S communications error
has occurred.
OFF Normal CompoBus/S communica-
tions or the Unit is in standby status.
U.ERR (red) Unit error ON A Unit error has occurred.
OFF The Unit is communicating normally or
is in standby status.
SS (green) Sensor com-
munications
status
ON Normal Sensor communications
SS (red) ON A Sensor communications error has
occurred.
SS (---) OFF Sensors are in communications wait
status or power is turned OFF.

configuration. Up to 14 Fiber Amplifier
Units can be connected, so an error will
occur if this switch is set to 15 or 16.
