7.3. Setting Up the PLC
Set up the PLC.
7.3.1. Hardware Setting
Set the hardware switches of the Serial Communications Unit.
Precautions for Correct Use
Make sure that the power supply is OFF when you perform the settings.

Make sure that the power supply
to the PLC is OFF when you
perform the settings.
*If the power supply is turned
ON, settings may not be
applicable in the following
procedure.
Refer to the right figure and
check the hardware switches on
the front panel of the Serial
Communications Unit.
Connect the serial cable
(RS-232C) to Port 2 connector.
*This setting is required to use
the Port 2 of Serial
Communications Unit.

Set the Unit No. Switch to 0.
(The unit number is factory-set to
0.)

Connect the Serial
Communications Unit to the PLC
as shown on the right.
Connect the serial
communications cable and USB
cable, and turn ON the power
supply to the PLC.
