MOBILE FIELD KIT API
Mobile Field Kit (MFK) is a product of Asynchrony, a division of World Wide Technology. The Detective X is
ready to connect to MFK, as delivered. A network connection is a prerequisite for setup and use of MFK (see
Section 4.9).
Beginning with Detective X Version 2.0 software, there are no MFK settings on the instrument. Instead, the
Asynchrony application will connect to the Detective X unit as a client. The Asynchrony application will only
need to know the IP Address of the Detective X unit.
The following sections provide detailed information on the communication protocol implemented on the
Detective X to support the MFK system.
A.1 INTRODUCTION
This section is a description of REST-based APIs, used for communication and remote-control interface with
ORTEC Detective X radioisotope identification devices (RIID).
Note that this interface is different than previous ORTEC implementations for the ICD API (such as Detective
X v1.4, Detective-PRO and Detective-EX).

A.3 SIMPLE COMMAND TESTING
Note that the requests defined herein can be quickly demonstrated by using an internet browser (assuming
a Detective X is available on the network). Simply start the browser and enter the URL (without ‘GET’ or ‘PUT’
prefixes) as shown in the following examples:
