2.2 General Safety Instructions
Attention!
Please read the Instructions for Use first!
Before using the product, you should become familiar with the handling, function
and use of the product.
You are responsible for the safety of your child. You may compromise the safety of
your child if you do not observe these instructions. However, it is impossible to protect
against and avoid all unforeseeable circumstances and situations. Common sense
and caution cannot be provided by the product and are expected from the person
who cares for the child and uses the product.
The person using the product and its accessories when caring for a child is to
ensure that they understand all user and safety instructions. These persons should
furthermore explain the operating instruction to any other person using the product
and its accessories.
If the instructions are incomprehensible and more detailed explanations are
required, or if you have other questions, please contact an authorized Otto
Bock dealer.

Using your Otto Bock product as a seat for transportation in vehicles for the
disabled:
We recommend that, wherever and whenever possible, users of a wheelchair/
mobility base with seating shell or buggy transfer to the seats installed in the motor
vehicle and use the corresponding vehicle restraint systems, because this is the
only way to ensure optimal protection of the passengers in case of an accident. If
your Kimba Spring is to be used as a seating transportation in a motor vehicle the
anchor brackets offered by Otto Bock and appropriate restraint systems for the
wheelchair must be used. For more information, please refer to our brochure „Using
your wheelchair/ mobility base with seating shell or buggy as a seat for transporta-
tion in motor vehicles“ (Article no.: 646D158) or on Internet (download) under www.
ottobock.de (.com).
The use of Kimba Inline Twin as a seat during the transportation in motor vehicle is
not allowed.

The product may be used only on solid level ground.

Use your Kimba Spring properly. For instance, do not drive into obstacles (including
steps, curbs) without braking.
Danger!
For clearing obstacles such as steps and curbs, tilt the Kimba Spring onto the rear
wheels (to ascend, pull the Kimba Spring backwards; to descend, slowly lower the
Kimba Spring forwards).
Danger!
Stairs should be ascended/descended only with assistance from attendants. Make
use of ramps or elevators whenever available. If wheelchair-friendly access is miss-
ing, two attendants must carry the wheelchair over the obstacle.
