6 Seating Shell Interface
The seating shell interfaces (Fig. 22) serve as the basis for individual seating shell fittings. As
with the multi-functional seating unit, they fit all mobility bases. They are available in various
sizes and can include a footrest assembly. They are available in various sizes and can include a

rest assembly are identical to those of the seating unit; please refer to section “Multi-functional
Seating Unit”.

Attention!
All accessory not installed by the manufacturer must be installed by a trained techni-
cian. The following notes on installation are listed here for technician use.
Information!
Straps on accessories are usually extra long to accommodate most positions. Excess
strap ends can be cut off, and the cut edge melted together with a flame (cigarette
lighter) in order to prevent fraying.
7.1 Roll Loops
To offer better strap positioning in the pelvic area, the Kimba seating unit is delivered with two
roll loops. Depending on individual requirements you can mount these roll loops on either side
in three different positions (Fig. 23).
7.2 Abductor
Place the abductor (Fig. 24) in the desired position, and affix it with screws from bellow. When
using a slipsack, also cut a slit at the appropriate location. Models with depth adjustment can
be adjusted in the slotted hole.
