4.2 Removing the Seating Unit from, and Mounting it to, the Mobility Base
For transporting the Kimba Spring in a car or to divide its weight into two more manageable
loads, the seat can easily be removed from the mobility base.
This also makes it easier to transfer the seat between indoor and outdoor mobility bases. While
standing behind the seating unit, position yourself on the right side. Hold the head area of the
seat back with one hand.
Now reach beneath the seat and pull the angled disengaging lever (Fig. 13, item C) towards
the footrest assembly. The retaining claw (Fig. 15, item A) will release the seat support fixture
(Fig. 10). Tilt the seat to the rear and remove it by lifting upwards.

Choose the direction you wish the seat to face when you remount it on the mobility base. Hold
the seat as described above and first put the locking unit (Fig. 11, item C) at an angle of approx.
45° on the back tube of the seat support fixture (Fig. 10). Press the front edge of the seat onto
the mobility base until the clutch audibly snaps into the front tube of the seat adapter. Make sure
it’s secure by giving the seat a few short tugs.
Notice:
If you hear no engaging noise, you must engage the retaining claw manually. For
this purpose, pull the disengaging lever and push the seat downwards. Press the
disengaging lever on the front tube of the seat adapter till you can see that the tube
is fully enclosed by the retaining claw.
Please contact your specialist workshop immediately and have the locking mecha-
nism adjusted.
