Check propeller
!
WARNING
You could be seriously injured
if the engine accidentally starts
when you are near the propeller.
Before inspecting, removing, or
installing the propeller, place the
shi control in neutral, turn the
key to OFF and remove the key.
Remove the clip from the engine
shut-off switch. Disconnect the
battery main switch.
Loosen or tighten the propeller nut
Do not use your hand to hold
the propeller when loosening or
tightening the propeller nut. Put a
wooden block between the anti-
cavitation plate and the propeller
to prevent the propeller from
turning.
Propeller checkpoints
– Check each of the propeller
blades for erosion or other
damage.
– Check the propeller sha for
damage.
– Check the splines for wear or
damage.
– Check for obstacles tangled
around the propeller sha.
Propeller sha oil seals
– Check the propeller sha oil
seals for leakage. Replace if
necessary.
